Rajasthan town tense after stone throwing at religious procession near mosque

Communal tensions gripped a town in Rajasthan’s Bhilwara district after reports emerged that stones were thrown at a religious procession near a mosque.
According to the police, two people, including a woman, were injured in the incident that occurred in Jahazpur on Saturday during the procession carried out by the Hindu community.
Following the incident, people participating in the procession staged a protest, raising slogans against the perpetrators and demanded action.
Gopichand Meena, the BJP MLA from Jahazpur, reached the spot after being informed and staged a sit-in protest outside the mosque, demanding the arrest of the accused.
Meanwhile, markets were shut on Sunday and there was heavy police deployment to maintain law and order.
The police said the situation is currently under control and a probe is underway to trace the accused.
